Installation Checklist

Thank you for choosing Metro Marble + Granite to be a part of your project – each and every one of our clients are important to us so we want to make sure that the process runs as smoothly as possible.  Hold ups can happen and are sometimes unavoidable but by following the checklist below and making sure that everything is completed from your end, it ensures that there are no site hold ups on the day and you are not left disappointed if we are forced to reschedule:

  • Have you booked a plumber and an electrician to disconnect your services before we arrive?  You will also need to book them to return once the job has been completed to reconnect.  If services are still connected on arrival then we have no choice but to postpone your job and reschedule where possible.
  • Have you paid your deposit?  We request a 50% deposit for all work so that we can order in / reserve your chosen material and have it here ready for when your templates arrive.  If you have not received an invoice then please let us know as soon as possible so this can be generated.  If you are unable to pay your deposit then please give us a call to discuss and we will reschedule the template and install date to suit.
  • Please ensure that you have made it clear to us who is providing the templates for your project.  Templates are extremely important as this is what our workshop use to cut your project to the millimetre.  If we are working with your cabinet maker then this has no doubt been organised but if you would like us to make templates then please advise so we can arrive prepared with the necessary materials.
  • If you have selected an undermount sink then please make arrangements for the sink to be delivered to our workshop.  Often this is organised through your cabinetmaker or builder or we will collect when we pick up / create templates.
  • If your project is a renovation or bench top replacement then it is imperative that you clear the top shelves of all your base cabinets so as to avoid any damage to your personal belongings and fine china when we are installing.  Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to items that are left in place.
  • If your dishwasher is to be installed under your new benchtop then please ensure you have read the manufacturer guidelines on requirements for surrounding ventilation space, substrates or protective coverings.  Extreme heat and temperature changes from a dishwasher can cause a benchtop to crack suddenly which is not covered under any manufacturer warranty and should Metro be required to attend then a site visit cost and any associated repair costs will be incurred.
  • Lastly, please ensure you have read up on your chosen material – how to clean, what not to do and how to maintain and look after it to keep it looking beautiful.
